On Thursday, August 30, starting at 7 p.m., we will transport guests to Lake Como’s famed Locanda dell’Isola Comacina with a five-course menu inspired by the enchanted Italian island’s celebrated meal ($42 per person, not including tax and gratuity).
As a special edition of the restaurant’s monthly Morso della Bestia (or “Bite of the Beast”) whole-animal dinner series, Executive Chef Gianfranco Minuz will incorporate locally sourced seafood and poultry—coupled with produce from the Santa Monica Farmers’ Market —into the traditional Locanda dell’Isola Comacina menu, which has been served for over 50 years to diners traveling by boat to experience the simple, unadulterated preparations of the Bellagio region. To cap off the meal, Locanda del Lago will also introduce the island’s “evil-dispensing” ritual, a hot drink of coffee and liqueur alleged to offer protection from a storied curse that is believed to haunt Lake Como’s picturesque dining destination.
